Thank you Bears, after defeating the Redskins 24-0, Eagles clinch a playoff birth

30 December 2018 Uncategorized

The Eagles did their part and the Chicago Bears did their’s. The Eagles are playoff bound.

After defeating the Washington Redskins 24-0 and after the Bears defeated the Minnesota Viking 24-10, the Eagles secured a playoff birth where they’ll take on the Bears.

But, let’s get back to the game at hand. It was a dominant performance from the Eagles defense. They held the Redskins to just 89 total yards, had three sacks, one interception and one forced fumble. They were hungry for a win and it showed.

Offensively, the Eagles got the job done. Nick Foles threw for 221, two touchdowns and one interception. He tied a record for consecutive completions in a row with 25, before leaving the game injured. Nate Sudfeld took his place and threw one pass, that pass was a 22 yard touchdown.

As a team, the Eagles ran for 129 yards. Wendell Smallwood led the way with 53 yards and Josh Adams added 50 yards. Wide Receiver Alshon Jeffery led all receivers with 59 yards and one touchdown.

At the end of the day, what needed to happen, happened. The Eagles did their part and so did the Bears. They worked together this week, and now they’re enemies as they’ll face each other in the wildcard round of the playoffs.
