Report: Eagles expect both RB Darren Sproles and RT Lane Johnson to play vs. Cowboys

7 November 2018 Uncategorized

The Philadelphia Eagles just got a big boost going into this important clash versus the Dallas Cowboys.

Today at his press conference, head coach Doug Pederson said he expects both Darren Sproles and Lane Johnson to play.

Obviously it goes without saying, having Lane Johnson on the field is huge. He’s one of the best right tackles in the NFL. He’s a key member of the offensive line and the Cowboys have a pretty fierce defensive line, with Demarcus Lawrence leading the way. Johnson will have to handle Lawrence for the Eagles to have success.

Moving on to Sproles, he’s likely to become a key member on the offense as well as the Eagles’ punt returner. Sproles will likely be the feature back as he’s a very dangerous weapon. The Eagles will likely balance to rushing attack more, but usually, Sproles leads the way when he’s healthy.

Regardless of role, Sproles adds a new dimension to the team when he’s healthy. The Eagles need to make sure they’re not as obvious with him as they were in week one.

This news will come as a big boost to a team looking to start and make a run. Going into Dallas, the Eagles will have a bit of backup now.
