Report: Is it possible we see DT Tim Jernigan next week?

31 October 2018 Uncategorized

Is it possible the Eagles’ defensive line sees a familiar face return after the bye week?

According to Howard Eskin, he thinks there’s a “good chance” defensive tackle Tim Jernigan returns next week, calling it a possibility.

To add fuel to the fire, after the Eagles acquired wide receiver Golden Tate, instead of waiving a wide receiver to make room for him on the roster, the Eagles waived defensive tackle Bruce Hector.

Jernigan underwent back surgery shortly after the Super Bowl. His estimated recovery time and this report almost go hand in hand as a return should be very soon. Getting him back is going to be huge for the Eagles defensive line.

Make no mistake, Jernigan has been missed on the defensive line. Last season Jernigan was a key cog on the defensive line and he helped free up Fletcher Cox and the rest of the line. Last season he had a combined 29 tackles and 2.5 sacks, but his complete impact is one that is not easy on the eye for those who love statistics. Jernigan’s Impact is one that could not be completely understood if you just look a statistics, often times because of him, others got the big sack or big tackle. Jernigan is an enforcer who causes havoc on opposing offensive lines.
