CB Sidney Jones week-to-week with hamstring injury

12 October 2018 Eagles News

Coach Pederson noted that Eagles CB Sidney Jones is dealing with a hamstring injury and is week-to-week.

Unfortunately for the Birds defense, that could mean that he may not be ready for next week and could miss some time. The positive, Eagles do have nine days before their next game versus the Carolina Panthers. However, with Jones out of the lineup the Birds will have younger players taking on bigger roles for the secondary.

When Sidney Jones left with a hamstring injury vs the Giants, Jim Schwartz moved Avonte Maddox into slot, with Rasul Douglas moving to safety. Douglas ended up playing 42 snaps at the safety position, with Maddox logging 100 percent of the snaps on Thursday.

Veteran safety, Corey Graham, also missed last nights game dealing with a hamstring, but moving forward, the Eagles will have to rely on their youth in the secondary to come up big and hold down the fort until Jones and Graham get healthy.
