The Philadelphia Eagles have made a very intriguing move.
Just reported, the Eagles have clear $6.5 million in cap space after restructuring defensive linemen Fletcher Cox’s contract.
Eagles restructured contract of Pro-Bowl DT Fletcher Cox on Friday, creating $6.5 million more of cap space this season and $11.7 million more next season, sources tell @mortreport and me. But Eagles have not pursued a trade for Le’Veon Bell and have no plans to, per sources.

He makes it a point saying the Eagles have not pursued a trade for Le’Veon Bell and do not plan too. However, teams don’t just create cap space five weeks into the season for no reason. There’s definitely a move about to happen. By saying that, that doesn’t mean a Bell trade will happen, possibly the hand out early extensions or trade for someone else. But, announcing Cox’s contract extension says a move is going to closely follow.
If I’m the Eagles with the news of Jay Ajayi missing the rest of the season, I’m looking to bring in another running back. The Eagles need to revive the run game and they need a playmaker at that position.
