Alshon Jeffery still practicing in a limited capacity

21 September 2018 Uncategorized

According to Head Coach Doug Pederson, WR Alshon Jeffery has yet to be cleared and is practicing in a limited capacity.

While most didn’t think the Eagles No.1 wide receiver was ready for takeoff, it’s something to monitor in practice moving forward. The Eagles would love to have him back next week, but it’s possible that it could be two more weeks for Alshon Jeffery’s return.

So far, it’s been 6 months that Jeffrey has been recovering from torn rotator cuff surgery, but the good news is he’s close for his return. Without Jeffrey’s presence the offense has looked stale in comparison to last seasons’ offensive unit. The Birds are missing his production from the outside and teams are now paying more attention to Zach Ertz and the middle of the field.

With the Eagles looking for healthy bodies in the wide receiver group, the Eagles recently signed WR Jordan Matthews to the 53-man roster. Right now, the Eagles depth chart consists of Nelson Agholor, Shelton Gibson, Jordan Matthews and Kamar Aiken. However, the Birds have been reported to have a work out for Jeremy Maclin in the works, according to NBC Sports John Clark.

Beside Nelson Agholor, the wide receiver group is in desperate need of another playmaker to stand up. Let’s hope the Eagles receivers have a better outing against the Colts younger corners in Nate Hairston(24), Kenny Moore (23), Quincy Wilson (22) and veteran Pierre Desir.
