Official: Eagles bring back WR Jordan Matthews

19 September 2018 Uncategorized

It’s now official, the Philadelphia Eagles have signed wide receiver Jordan Matthews.

With just three wide receivers on the active roster, the Eagles needed to make a move. With limited moves to make, the Eagles found the solution in a former player.

After adding Matthews, the Eagles placed wide receiver Mike Wallace on IR. He had surgery yesterday to correct a fractured fibula.

Back to Matthews, ideally he’s going to get most of his looks in the slot, pushing Nelson Agholor outside. In Matthews best season with the Eagles, he caught 85 passes for 997 yards and eight touchdowns. He can be very productive, but does have his flaws.

In the predicament the Eagles were in, he makes a lot of sense. He’s familiar with the team and him and quarterback Carson Wentz have a strong bond. This move might not light the league on fire, but it’ll do this team a lot of good.
