Eagles sign S Corey Graham to a one-year deal, a key player down the stretch for the Eagles

5 August 2018 Eagles News

The Philadelphia Eagles have brought back a key contributor to last seasons Super Bowl run. Just announced, the Eagles have signed safety Corey Graham to a one year deal.

Down the stretch, Graham became one of the most important players for the Eagles. He accounted for 38 tackles and two interceptions last season, however, those numbers don’t do a player like him justice.

Graham was important to the Eagles because he held their third safety role. In that role, he saw over one third of the defensive snaps and gave safety Malcom Jenkins the freedom to be moved around.

His role on this team was important and coming into this season, the Eagles needed to lock up a third safety. Obviously the Eagles know they can trust Graham and that’s why he’s back.

This is a big signing because having a third safety is going to free up Jenkins and their defense.  Graham’s going to see a lot of the field this season and most importantly, the Eagles hope he can help develop one of the younger safeties. His role is extremely important, adding him gives the Eagles a sense of security as they look to repeat.
