25 July 2018 Eagles News
With the players reporting today for training camp, news surfaced regarding Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz and his participation in this years’ camp.
Per Ian Rapoport, the Eagles are expected to add Wentz to the PUP list which would mean he would be unable to practice, but he’d be able to participate in team meeting and take advantage of medical and physical facilities.
The #Eagles report and have their physicals today, including rehabbing QB Carson Wentz. The most likely, cautious scenario is that Wentz lands on the PUP list, sources say, though he could come off at any time. It would not be an indication that he’ll start the season on PUP.

Moving Wentz to the PUP list makes a lot of sense for the team because it’s their last and only chance to do so. Once training camp starts, the Eagles will not be able to make that move. This means if there’s any sort of set back, the couldn’t add him to this list. Another positive about this is the fact he can be taken off at any point, meaning it is possible he’s only on the list for a couple of weeks.
The main thing here is, the Eagles have a move to make and they want to ensure Wentz is back stronger than ever. Why waste a tool which could became handy is there’s any problems in the next couple of weeks. Wentz is the franchise and there’s no point to rushing him back for no reason at this moment in time.
