3 things to know: Day one of OTAs

22 May 2018 Eagles News

Let’s give you a quick recap of all the news surrounding the team after the first OTA session this offseason. It was a big day for a couple players, but it was also a really bad one for one particular player. Without further ado, let’s get into it.

  1. Carson Wentz ahead of schedule??????

Wentz practiced today and looked like he hadn’t injured his knee at all.

It was always Wentz’s goal to play week one and he looks well on his way to achieving that. Just around five months ago, Wentz went down injured. It’s amazing to see him already back on the field and moving like he is. Modern medicine does wonders, especially with a player as motivated as Wentz. If it weren’t for the knee brace, would you know he is rebounding from a major knee injury?

2. Are the Eagles cornerbacks going to take the league by storm?

Ronald Darby, Jalen Mills, Sidney Jones, Rasul Douglas and Devante Bausby. Everyone keeps on talking about how good the Los Angeles Rams secondary is, with Aquib Talib and Marcus Peters, the Eagles are here to get some respect. In all seriousness, Jones looks like he is capable of becoming an elite cornerback.

With Mills and Darby outside and Jones in the slot, the Eagles might just have one of the best starting trios in the league. Expect Darby to make a big leap this year after a full offseason with the team as well. The Eagles biggest weakness used to be their secondary and somehow, Howie Roseman and company have turned it into one of their biggest strengths.

3. Linebacker Paul Worrilow goes down injured.

The Eagles signed Worrilow a few months ago and before he can even put on pads, he went down injured with what seems like a serious knee injury. He was carted off the field with an air cast on his leg.

It does not look good for him which is a real bummer for himself and the team.
