Eagles sign former Packers QB Joe Callahan

3 May 2018 Eagles News

Yesterday, the Philadelphia Eagles signed former Packers QB Joe Callahan to the roster after he was released by the Packers on Monday.

The New Jersey Native spent last year backing up Bret Hundley and Aaron Rodgers in 2017 and saw limited playing time in one game at the end of the year for the Packers. The Packers signed the former D3 star QB from Wesley in 2016, after previous stops with the Cleveland Browns and the New Orleans Saints. Callahan became the first D3 quarterback to throw for 5,000 yards in a season and was named Division 3 Offensive Player of the Year in 2015.

Callahan actually played against the Philadelphia Eagles during the preseason and went 10-for-16 for 103 yards in the Packers opener at Lambeau Field.

With Carson Wentz still injured, Callahan joins Nick Foles and Nate Sudfeld in the QB room, but should be a camp arm for the Philadelphia Eagles with rookie camp right around the corner.
