Eagles put Florida DT Taven Bryan through workout

28 March 2018 DRAFT Eagles News

Today, Philadelphia Eagles DL coach Chris Wilson put Florida DT Taven Bryan through a workout during Florida’s pro day.

THE SKINNY: The Florida defensive tackle could be looked at as a prospect to develop behind quality pros like Fletcher Cox, Timmy Jernigan, and Haloti Ngata. When you look behind these three players you have to wonder what the Eagles think of their younger talent at the position. The Birds currently have Destiny Vaeao, Elijah Qualls, Aziz Shittu, and Winston Craig bringing up the rear.

As a first-year starter, Bryan started 11 games at defensive tackle for the Gators, recording 40 total tackles, six tackles-for-loss, four sacks and three quarterback hurries. Bryan showed off some raw athletic traits and was a disruptive force up the middle for the Gators, but will have to continue to progress as a football player at the next level. If his instincts and production at the college level matched his physical ability, he would probably go higher in the draft. With the Eagles having the ability to go anywhere in the draft at No.32, it’s an opportunity to fortify the strength of your roster and get younger at the defensive tackle position.
