Under the radar storyline heading into the NFC Championship game

The one thing no one is talking about heading into the Eagles game versus the Minnesota Vikings is the Eagles’ special teams unit and that is why they are an underrated storyline heading into this game.
Without anyone really knowing, special teams play a vital role in any game. Take last week, for example, the Eagles lapse on a punt return was cause for the Atlanta Falcons only touchdown for the game and kicker Jake Elliott missed an extra point. Those kinds of mistakes cannot happen in a playoff game.
However, if you follow the Eagles, you know their special teams is usually top notch. Which brings us to the Vikings. who also had their fair share of mishaps last week. Kicker Kai Forbath missed a field goal and they had a punt get blocked which led to points for the Saints.
Now, looking at the last matchup between the two, the Eagles were able to return a kick for a touchdown. Which brings us to this week’s game. Which unit is going to step up and make the big play? Whichever side does will have a big impact on the outcome of the game. For our sake, let’s hope it is the Eagles. We have seen this unit come up big before.
