Report: Eagles to play starters vs. Cowboys

29 December 2017 Eagles News

With nothing to play for, the Eagles do not even have to field a team this Sunday versus the Dallas Cowboys. For the most part, teams sit their starters in the last game of the season when there is nothing to play for. However, with the Eagles clinching a first-round bye, sitting their starters would mean they would not play in a game for two weeks.

Last year, the Cowboys were in the same position the Eagles are in now and they elected to sit their starters. Although they started their playoff game off slow, there really was not that much rust. But, with a new quarterback in for the Eagles, this game is looked at as another chance for him to build with the offense.

It is not known how much the starters are going to play this Sunday, but we do know we will see them on the field. All week, head coach Doug Pederson has spoken about not taking this game like the team would a preseason game, but from the outside looking in, that is what it feels like. Although the offense does need work and time on the field together will only benefit them, the main priority going into this game is leaving the way you started.
