Although he is signed through 2018, the Eagles want to lock Graham up for years to come.At the age of 29, Graham is only getting better. Graham, who led the league in quarterback pressures last season is on pace to have his best statistical year of his career. Graham has amassed six sacks this season already, his career best is 6.5 sacks. He could break his career sack total today versus the Chicago Bears.
There is no secret, Graham is one of the best pass rushers and players in the league. Graham is a very important member of the Eagles defense and he is one the Eagles will not want to let walk out the door. The Eagles are a team that likes to secure their players early, having already given a new contract to defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan, the Eagles are looking to lock up another member of their very scary defensive line.
The Eagles defensive line is the best in the league and securing Graham would mean they would be together for the impending future. It is a smart move by the Eagles to secure their defensive line and not let the business side of the game break them up.
