Slater: Tackle Tyron Smith will not play; Cowboys will start Byron Bell

According to NFL Networks’ Jane Slater Dallas Cowboys OT Tyron Smith will not play on Sunday according her source.
The Cowboys All-World tackle sat again on Thursday with Back and groin issues. Last week Smith was super limited in practice in practice prior to playing the Falcons and missed the game last Sunday.
A person with knowledge of the situation tells me Cowboys LT Tyron Smith will not play Sunday (groin). Byron Bell will start instead.

Tackle Chaz Green gave up a whopping 6 sacks last week versus Falcons’ Adrian Clayborn, forcing the Cowboys to go with Byron Bell for the rest of the game. Bell also gave up 2 sacks as well during the Falcons game. It looks like the Cowboys will go with their best option and risk their chances with Byron Bell this week. Expect a ton of max protect for Dak prescott on Sunday.
