Zach Ertz could have a big day vs. Broncos

5 November 2017 Eagles News

Eagles tight end Zach Ertz has been having a great season thus far and today versus the Denver Broncos, expect him to continue that success.

Ertz has 43 receptions for 528 yards and six touchdowns this season. He is second amongst tight ends in yards and receptions but leads all tight ends in touchdowns. Ertz has solidified himself as one of the best tight ends in the league.

With the Broncos in town, you might think Ertz will have a slow day, however, that statement could not be more false.

As pointed out by a fellow member of Eagles Twitter, the Broncos have really struggled to defend and contain opposing tight ends this season. Ertz is a great route runner, Carson Wentz’s security blanket, and the Eagles main red zone target, the Broncos have a lot to deal with today.

No one has figured out how to slow down Ertz this season. He has done it all against every team the Eagles have played this year. Linebackers are too slow to cover him and safeties are too small. Ertz has become a very hard man to defend against.

With all that being said, Ertz is coming into this game with a little knock to his hamstring. The Eagles described this as just tightness, so he should be good. However, that is the only thing that would affect his performance today versus the Broncos.

The Broncos do have a tough defense, but like all season, the Eagles favorite player to give the ball to is Ertz and Ertz has the favorable matchup in today’s game. Expect the Eagles to feed the ball to Ertz and on Ertz’s back, the Eagles will fly high in victory.
