Game predictions: Eagles vs. Redskins
23 October 2017 Eagles News
Primetime football is at the Linc tonight as our Philadelphia Eagles take on division rival the Washington Redskins. These two met earlier this year, which saw the Eagles victorious 30-17. However, both teams have gotten a lot better after that week one clash, setting the scene for a very good game tonight.
Being that this is a divisional game, tensions will be high, passion will be oozing out of the players and mistakes will be even more crucial. These games are always close no matter how the season is going for either team. The week one clash was a perfect testament to that, as the Eagles were only up six points before Fletcher Cox sealed the win at the end of the fourth quarter, returning the quarterback strip for a touchdown. If that play did not happen, who knows, the Redskins could have gone down the field and scored a winning touchdown.
These games are always going to be close, but ultimately tonight, I think the Redskins injuries on defense (Josh Norman, Bashaud Breeland, and Jonathan Allen) will hurt them a lot against a very good Eagles offense. The Eagles offense converts third downs and is able to sustain long drives. This is going to wear down a thin Redskins defense and let the Eagles see out this tight game. I am predicting the Eagles win 23 – 14.
