Fletcher Cox is OUT vs. Chargers, Beau Allen to step up in his place

29 September 2017 Eagles News

Eagles defensive lineman Fletcher Cox injured his calf early on versus the New York Giants last week. This week, Cox is still recovering from the injury and will miss the game versus the Los Angelas Chargers.

Cox is the Eagles best defensive lineman, so missing him will be a big blow for the Eagles. Especially considering the Chargers offensive line just held their own against the best defense in the league, the Denver Broncos. Whoever is to step up, needs to have a good game.

The Eagles will use Beau Allen, Elijah Qualls and creative packages to give this offensive line a bunch of different looks. So far this season, for the most part, the Eagles have dominated the line of scrimmage. To continue to win, they are going to have to do that again without Cox.

The quicker Cox comes back the better. Rumors are swirling around saying that Cox will miss a few weeks, however, head coach Doug Pederson said today that he thinks the injury is day to day.

In hindsight, yes, it stinks going into a game without Cox, however, he should be back sooner rather than later. Either way, as always, it is next man up and whoever steps in will do a fine job.
