Chris Long to donate first six game checks to fund scholarships in Charlottesville

19 September 2017 Eagles News

We need more people like Chris Long in the world.

Long is donating his first six games checks this season to Charlottesville to fund school scholarships. Long, a native of Charlottesville is using his foundation, The Chris Long Foundation to promote equality through education and two students will be awarded a seven-year all expenses paid school program scholarship.

As a fan, this is the news you want to hear coming from your organization. You want to hear these stories about players on your team making efforts off the field and using their platform for good. Long is going to change the life of two students, two families and the city of Charlottesville.

It is an honor to have a player like Long as a part of the Eagles organization. There is no written agreement that binds an NFL player to make efforts off the field, let along donate more than 1/4 of his salary, however, when someone does do something like that, it is really special. Props to you Chris Long, you are a good man.
