Report: Caleb Sturgis expected to miss several weeks with a quad strain

11 September 2017 Eagles News

A kicker try-out will be coming to Philadelphia.

Yesterday, Eagles kicker Caleb Sturgis injured himself after kicking the opening kickoff. Originally, reports indicated it was his hip flexor, but today we found out it was a quad strain and Sturgis is expected to miss several weeks.

Sturgis, who was having a good game yesterday, made three fields goals and one extra point. Although he was injured, he did not look it until the end of the game. This injury might not seem as big as the Ronald Darby one, however,  for the Eagles, this could be a big problem and a big issue.

With no other kicker on the roster, the Eagles will have to go out in free agency and pick one up. Which is a cause for concern for Sturgis because if that kicker comes in a performs, Sturgis could lose his job. Chalk up another injury headache to deal with.
