Report: Eagles are in the mix for free agent cornerback Joe Haden
30 August 2017 Eagles News
The Philadelphia Eagles are in the mix for free agent cornerback Joe Haden.
After failing to trade Haden, the Cleveland Browns released him today, making him the hottest free agent cornerback on the market. He is expected to make his decision and sign with a new team in the next day or so.
Joe Haden is entertaining 1year and multi-year offers. Expected to pick a team w/in 24hrs. PIT, MIA, NO, PHI, KC, SF very much in mix…

It is not known what kind of money these deals are, but we have seen Howie Roseman work magic before. I think a move for Haden would only benefit this team.
Let’s be honest, you can say all you want about his play the last two years, but in reality, what player is fully giving their all to the Browns. A change of scenery could bring out the best of Haden and possibly bring his old self back.
However, the one thing going against the Eagles is their money situation. They cleared some cap earlier today, releasing Ron Brooks, however, they are still left with just $13.5 million in cap space. With a lot of players up for new contracts next season, this move seems unlikely.
Also on that note, Roseman was adamant about not signing any band-aids at this position and at this point with the season looming, Haden is exactly that.
