McDougle was a 2014 third-round pick and has spent his entire career with the Jets. He appeared in just six games last year and has never started. This move shows that the Eagles want to address their depth at the postion.
Speaking to Jets fans, their opinion on McDougle was not too good. All saying he was was not the best player and he might have been cut this year.
As for Terrence Brooks, he was a core special teams player for the Eagles. If McDougle does not see the field, this trade does not make sense.
But, I will add this, after signing Corey Graham, the Eagles safety room became too crowded and one player had to go. The Eagles seem comfortable keeping Jaylen Watkins, Chris Maragos, and Corey Graham as the depth players.
