WR Alshon Jeffery misses second straight practice
2 August 2017 Eagles News
PHILADELPHIA –Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery missed his second consecutive practice on Wednesday as he is still dealing with a shoulder strain.
On Saturday, Jeffery hurt his shoulder during a one-on-one drill versus Patrick Robinson, but was able to return to practice.
“I feel great,” he told ESPN. “I’m fine, I’m good.”
If the Eagles were to have a game this Sunday, the veteran wideout would definitely be playing. However, that is not the case and it’s been said that the injury is to be minor, but letting Jeffery sit out for another practice is a solid idea. There is no need to rush Jeffery out if he is dealing with soreness. The positive spin here: Eagles will get more opportunities to see some of their younger wideouts get quality reps. See WR Marcus Johnson. The second-year player is having himself a terrific camp and looks like he may have a shot at making the 53-man roster.
At the moment, the Eagles offense is currently without WR Torrey Smith(back spasms), RB LeGarrette Blount (personal reasons), RB Donnel Pumprhey (hamstring).
