Going into the season, here’s a look at the Eagles CB depth
23 May 2017 Eagles News
At Head Coach Doug Pederson’s press conference today, he gave us an idea of the Eagles thinking regarding the cornerback position.
Pederson said right now, Jalen Mills and Patrick Robinson will start outside and Ron Brooks will play in the slot.

When you look at the Eagles cornerback depth, they are in a much better position than last season. Mills and Robinson are the starters and rookie Rasul Douglas, Aaron Grymes, and C.J. Smith will work themselves in. Also, it gives second round pick Sidney Jones time to recover. And, when he does, the Eagles will have one of the better young groups at cornerback.
Along with Brooks, the Eagles can also use a variety of corners in the slot if needed. However, expect Brooks to get the majority, if not all the snaps in the slot.
This is important because, with Brooks back, it means safety Malcolm Jenkins focus will primarily be at safety. With a shortage of slot corners last season, we often saw Jenkins move to the slot. With Brooks back, Jenkins can stay at safety and be moved around as needed.
