Eagles waive QB Jerod Evans; sign T Victor Salako

15 May 2017 Eagles News

The Philadelphia Eagles waived Virginia Tech QB Jerod Evans over the weekend, adding Oklahoma State OT Victor Salako to the 90-man roster.

Just last week, Evans signed as an undrafted free agent, however, he ended up sustaining a foot injury. For a moment, it looked like the Eagles may have found someone to challenge Matt McGloin for the No. 3 QB spot. The Eagles decided to put Evans on the waived/injured list at the end of the three-day rookie mini-camp, with the Eagles working out an injury settlement with the former Hokie QB.

You can never have enough lineman and the Eagles brought in the 6-foot-6, 335-pound T Victor Salako who recently had a tryout with the Birds. The undrafted free agent will have an opportunity to compete but will be a long shot to make the squad.

Salako has the size, frame, and arm length you like for the position, but his lack of athleticism and functional movement skills will make it hard for to compete at the next level.
