Eagles sign UDFA Charles Walker, could have been a first round pick

8 May 2017 Eagles News

The Eagles just added another defensive tackle to their team.

Broken by ESPN’s Field Yates, the Eagles signed former Oklahoma defensive tackle Charles Walker.

Due to injuries, Walker left Oklahoma early to get healthy again and prepare for the NFL Draft. Mel Kiper thinks if he would have stayed, he could have been a first round pick.

Walker is a pretty talented defensive tackle and is really athletic for his size. He now joins a pretty packed defensive tackle group, with the likes of Fletcher Cox, Timmy Jernigan, Destiny Vaeao, Elijah Qualls and Beau Allen when he returns. This will be a position battle to watch this summer.

The talent is undeniable with Walker, however, he is injury history is a cause for concern. This move is a low risk, high reward move. There is nothing invested and for all we know, Walker can become a pro bowler in the NFL.
