Welcome to Philadelphia Rasul Douglas

29 April 2017 DRAFT Eagles News

With the 99th pick in the NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles select, West Virginia cornerback Rasul Douglas.

What exactly did the Eagles get with Douglas?

Douglas stands 6-foot-2 and weighs 209 pounds, he has rare size for a cornerback.  Last season, he had eight interceptions and 10 pass breakups.

A cornerback with rare size for the position. Douglas is a ballhawk, he possesses great ball skills and can make a play for the ball when in position.  When you talk about playmakers at the position, Douglas needs to be the first player on that list. He is a good fit for the Eagles and Jim Schwartz’s scheme which likes longer cornerbacks. Not to mention, he is not afraid to get down and dirty versus the run.

The Eagles had a pressing need at corner and addressed it very well today. Douglas will immediately fight for a starting job on this team. He is not the perfect prospect, but under Schwartz and Cory Undlin, he can blossom into one.

Day two was a success for the Eagles, here is to hoping day three will be just as successful.
