The Eagles give Carson Wentz another weapon in Mike Mayock’s lone mock draft

26 April 2017 DRAFT Eagles News

With the 14th pick of NFL Draft, the Eagles select Clemson wide receiver, Mike Williams – At least according to Mike Mayock’s lone mock draft.

Standing 6’4”, Williams is almost a clone of the Eagles newly acquired wide receiver Alshon Jeffery. Try covering two receivers as big as them and as gifted as them. Carson Wentz would just have to throw the ball up and one of those two receivers would get it.

But, in all seriousness, the Eagles do not have a lot of long-term receivers on their team right now. Ideally, you did not sign Jeffery and Torrey Smith for just one year, but the Eagles do not know if they will work out and stay another year. The Eagles can give themselves a long term option at receiver with the addition of Williams.
