Eagles mock draft roundup: New NFL.com mock draft has the Eagles drafting Christian McCaffrey

12 April 2017 Eagles News

According to a new NFL.com mock draft, the Eagles land the swiss army knife that is Christian McCaffrey.

Bucky Brooks is the analyst who made this mock draft. His reasoning for picking McCaffrey, “Doug Pederson could transform the Brian Westbrook clone into a star in the Eagles‘ offense.”

He had the Eagles pass up on the likes of Gareon Conley and the other cornerbacks in this years’ NFL draft. The idea of passing on a cornerback is not new. Instead of forcing a need, the Eagles have the ability to upgrade elsewhere. And, what is better than giving Carson Wentz the most dynamic player in the draft.

McCaffrey is extremely versatile. He can hurt you running the ball, receiving it, and returning it.  In a recent interview with 97.5 Philadelphia, Adam Schefter said McCaffrey is a “can’t miss.”

McCaffrey has all the traits to become the next Westbrook and better. McCaffrey gets a litter overshadowed by his receiving and returning ability, but his running ability is right up there with the best in this draft class.
