Report: San Diego St. CB Damontae Kazee has an official visit with Eagles

8 April 2017 DRAFT Eagles News

Add another visit to the Eagles’ list.

According to an article by Tony Pauline of DraftAnalyst.com, the Eagles have scheduled an official visit for San Diego St. cornerback Damontae Kazee.

Kazee measured in at 5’10” and 184 pounds. Some would say he lacks size for a cornerback on the outside, but Kazee plays big. I would not be too worried about his size.

He is expected to go in the third round of this years’ draft. He is not a cornerback who is going to be your number one, but he has the ability to become a very solid corner.

“Limited by his size and his long speed, Kazee has all the instincts and ball skills that a team could want. If he fails to run well, he could drop a round or even two, but he’s a good fit for teams who run zone and off man. His willingness in run support and his penchant for taking the ball away should follow him into the pros and make for an early transition into a third or fourth cornerback role.”

If the Eagles are to add Kazee and another cornerback in the first two rounds, they will go into next season with a very solid cornerback situation.
