Eagles work out Bucknell OT Julie’n Davenport

5 April 2017 DRAFT Eagles News

According to Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller, the Eagles worked out Bucknell OT Julie’n Davenport.

The Eagles weren’t alone with their interest, as they were 1 of 12 teams there to put Davenport through a workout.

The 6-foot-6, 318-pound Davenport has been quite the anchor for the Bison the last four years. As a freshman, Davenport earned the starting job as the Bisons’ left tackle and hasn’t looked back since, logging in 44 starts on his career resume.

When Davenport gets drafted at the end of April, he’ll be the first Bucknell prospect to get selected since 1969. The question is, what exact round may that be. The raw tackle prospect is slated to go anywhere from the 4th to 5th round of the draft.

Davenport showcases the length and athleticism that teams look for at the tackle position, however, he’ll have to refine his game if he’s going to be successful at the next level.

If the Eagles are smart they’ll take their shots to find their next potential right tackle in the middle rounds of the draft. With so many needs at cornerback, a need for a true three-down RB, and a long term answer at WR, I assume those positions will be addressed in the first 3 rounds if the board falls the right way.
