The Eagles only move down twenty-five spots and acquire a Bennie Logan replacement. A good move by the team.
Jernigan is entering is a fourth season in the NFL. In his previous three seasons, he racked up 91 tackles and 13 sacks, an average of about 4 sacks a season.
Described by Ravens coach John Harbaugh, Jernigan is a “wrecking ball,” Jernigan is an interior run specialist. The Eagles addresses a position of need, there is not a necessary demand anymore come draft day.
Being on his rookie contract, Jernigan will be a free agent next season. But, for now, the Eagles are getting a player who started every game last season and is a force in the interior. This is a good move for the team.
