Eagles held private workout with FSU’s Dalvin Cook

30 March 2017 DRAFT Eagles News

Add another meeting to Dalvin Cook’s list for the Philadelphia Eagles, as the Birds recently put the FSU prospect through a private workout, according to Tomahawk Nation.

The Private workout makes it the fourth meeting on my chart –Combine meeting, Official Team Visit, Pro Day meeting, Private workout–and it definitely shows some kind of interest on the Eagles part. It’s been reported by Bleeding Green Nation that RB Coach Duce Staley also put Cook through a workout and the Eagles staff also met with Cook’s family.

With the No.14 selection right around the corner, Cook’s stock seems to be strong with the Eagles. There have been multiple reports of off-the-field concerns leading to Cook’s fall into the second round. Sometimes you have to look at your calendar, and realize what time of year it is in terms of the NFL Draft; they don’t call it “smoke screen season” for nothing. Interested teams are hoping for his stock to drop so he falls into their laps.

I firmly believe Cook has moved on from his past, and if you weren’t watching close enough, you might have missed out that he’s been the heart and soul of the FSU program the last two years. Cook has been a jack-of-all-trades for FSU as of late, when not being an explosive football player on the field, he’s taken on a leadership role with the team behind the scenes. If they draft him, the Eagles only job is to make sure that his past mistakes do not become part of his future.
