TE Michael Roberts has workout planned with Eagles

20 March 2017 DRAFT Eagles News

According to Draft Analyst Tony Pauline Toledo TE Michael Roberts has planned to work out for the Philadelphia Eagles, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the Arizona Cardinals.

The 6-foot-4, 270-pound Roberts was a one-year starter for Toledo, but had his biggest season as a senior. In Robert’s breakout season for Toledo he hauled in 45 receptions for 533 yards and 16 scores, earning first team All-Mac honors. As of right now, Roberts could be targeted in the 5th to 6th round range of the draft.

NFL teams are excited by his productive season, along with his size and length at the TE position. The Toledo prospect–who has a basketball background–showcases natural catching ability. Roberts, a highly productive redzone target, could be seen as a passing option with experience as an inline blocker from the wing or slot. Teams who are looking to groom a young TE could initially use him as a third TE in heavy run packages, while taking advantage of his versatile skill set on goal line sets.
