Barwin was not really a fit in the Eagles 4-3 scheme. This past season he struggled to play at a high level. Although he struggled, he still was second on the team in sacks. This position is a big concern going forward.
Releasing Barwin saves the Eagles $7.75 million. This money will be important going forward.
I want to take this time to thank Barwin for everything he did for the Eagles and for the people of Philadelphia. It was a pleasure to have you in Eagles green.
Stay tuned for more news on this crazy day.
