Report: Eagles have given G Allen Barbre permission to seek a trade

4 March 2017 Eagles News

This week has been a wild week for the Eagles’ faithful. With the combine in full swing and free agency just a few days away, new rumors are pouring out constantly. The latest news and rumor involves starting offensive guard Allen Barbre.

Per a report by Jason Cole of Bleacher Report, the Eagles have given Barbre permission to seek a trade.

Barbre, who is 32-years old, is coming off of his best year as a pro. However, with the teams’ desire to get younger, Barbre seems to want out of town, knowing he is not part of the future plan. If traded, the move would save the Eagles around $2 million in cap space.

The Eagles have met with eight guards at the NFL combine, they are doing their homework. The writing has been on the wall this whole time. However, they still have C/G Issac Seumalo who can fill in if needed as well.

Trading Barbre is not really a shocker. The move saves the Eagles makes the Eagles money. The Eagles will have no troubling finding a replacement for Barbre. With a team rebuilding, this is a smart move.
