Report: QB Chase Daniel drawing interest on trade market

2 March 2017 Eagles News

NFL Insider Ian Rapoport reports that Eagles QB Chase Daniel is drawing some interest on the trade market.

If that is not music to your ears — in a cap strapped off-season– I don’t know what is. The walking, talking play book, also known as high paid back up QB Chase Daniel, has a $8,000,000 cap hit for the Eagles this 2017 season.

With the Eagles already set with Wentz as their starter and looking for more money to sign free agents, perhaps they feel Wentz is comfortable enough in the offense. Could it be time for the Eagles to let Wentz spread his wings on his own? This could mean that Daniel, the playbook whisperer, could offer the Eagles more value in a trade.

While it has not been reported on which teams are interested in Daniel, there are teams like the Bears, Browns, Bills, and Jets who are all looking for a potential signal caller. If the Birds were to trade Daniel, that would leave the Eagles in desperate need of a quality backup.
