This move comes as no shock. Everyone knew that McKelvin was going to be released. At his age and his level of play, he was not worth the $3 million he was due to make. By releasing him, the Eagles save that money.
With McKelvin off of the roster, there is now a hole in the Eagles cornerback room. Who are the Eagles going to fill that whole with? Possibly a first-round draft?
McKelvin did not offer the Eagles anything this past season. In fact, he hurt the team more than helping the team on Sunday’s. As I said before, this move is no shocking at all. McKelvin is the first casualty of the Eagles roster purge, who will be next?
