Ranking the Eagles biggest needs

28 January 2017 Eagles News

You can say the Eagles are a football team with a bunch of needs. They are lacking receivers, cornerbacks, a bell cow running back and more. Which needs are more important than the others?

Let’s rank the Eagles three biggest needs!

  1. Cornerback

Every single season, the Eagles cornerbacks are more like burnt toast. After an abysmal season and being ranked 32nd by PFF, the Eagles cornerback group is in a shocking state. Rumor has it, Leodis McKelvin will be cut. Also, Nolan Carroll is an FA. However, they are both garbage anyway. The only hope the Eagles have at CB right now is Jalen Mills. The Eagles need to pair him with a cornerback in the first round.

  1. Wide Receiver

This group is honestly is a way better state than the cornerback, but it is still trash. The only productive receiver on the roster is Jordan Matthews. There is not much to say about the other four receivers. Combined, the four of them (Agholor, Green-Beckham, Turner, and Treggs) did not even eclipse 1,000 yards receiving. Carson Wentz needs to be surrounded by weapons. A quarterback can only do so much by himself. The Eagles can take a lot off of Wentz’s shoulders with some viable receivers.

  1. Running Back

Every team is better when the run game is ticking. Just look at Dallas, Ezekiel Elliott has completely changed that team. When teams fear the run game, it opens up a lot for the quarterback. Wide Receivers help the quarterback a lot but do not underestimate the luxury of having a bell cow running back.
