Byron Marshall to have a role this Sunday vs. Ravens

16 December 2016 Eagles News

With Wendell Smallwood on the IR and Darren Sproles out of this Sunday’s contest versus the Baltimore Ravens, the Eagles will look to undrafted free agent Byron Marshall. After being activated to the 53-man roster earlier this week, Marshall is looking at a role this Sunday versus the Ravens.

Today, Doug Pederson talked about Marshall and the role he will play.  “It’s possible, but necessarily you don’t really know until you get into the game and actually use him,” Pederson said. “He understands our offense extremely well and is one of the reasons why, you know, we brought him up. He’s been to our meetings all year, listened to the terminology, seen the guys in front of him play. I have a lot of confidence in him getting some reps in the game.”

Marshall will not limit the Eagles in any way at all. The Eagles have confidence in him playing the Sproles role. Meaning, Marshall will not get a lot of running attempts, rather, he will be in on the passing downs.

Like Sproles, if you give him the play, he has a great chance of making a play. He is an energetic player. Maybe, just maybe, he is the offensive weapon the Eagles need.
