C.J Smith could see some action this Sunday

16 November 2016 Eagles News

With the looming injury to Nolan Carroll, who will be the corner to step up and take his snaps? Look no further than rookie CJ Smith.

Smith has been on the 53-man roster for quite some time. He has been practicing and getting some game action for the Eagles. Against the Atlanta Falcons, he only played one snap on defense. However, he was a major contributor to special teams, contributing 11 snaps, which is about half of the snaps.

Currently, Carroll, who suffered a concussion during the Falcons game is in the concussion protocol. In his recent press conference, Doug Pederson noted that Carroll is in the protocol, he could say no further.

If Carroll cannot go versus the Seahawks, Smith will be the corner who will get more reps. Versus the Falcons, Carroll played approximately 46% of the snaps. Smith might have that role in this game versus Seattle.
