Some players need to step up for the Eagles

28 October 2016 Eagles News

Sunday Night Football is the stage. Will the Eagles rise to the occasion and put on a dominant performance? In order to do so, some players need to step up for the Eagles.

One player who definitely needs to step up is Zach Ertz. In a recent press conference, Doug Pederson noted that maybe chemistry was the reason for Ertz’s recent struggles. Being out injured, he missed valuable game time and reps with rookie quarterback Carson Wentz.

Now that Ertz has been back, hopefully, they are fixing any chemistry issue. Because, in the last three week, Ertz has only been targeted nine times. Ertz needs to be productive. Wentz needs to find him versus the Cowboys.

As Jeff Kerr of CBSSports and 247Sports pointed out, the Dallas Cowboys have struggled to cover tight ends this year. If there is a time for Zach Ertz to break out, the stage is already set.

Another player who needs to step up for the Eagles is Beau Allen. Allen will be filling in for the injured Bennie Logan.

In no way am I saying Allen has not been performing for the Eagles, he has been playing pretty good football. Last week, he had three total tackles and a fumble recovery. He was great against the run game, he clogged up the middle.

He needs to step up because Logan brings that fire to this game. Logan plays with a lot of passion, especially versus the Cowboys. Sometimes it is hard to replace that kind of passion. Allen needs to channel his inner beast and let it out.

Also, Dallas is going to try to run it down the Eagles’ throat. He and the rest of the defensive line need to be on their A game. Allen needs to make sure he plays at the level of Logan. Stopping the run is a must for the Eagles.

The Eagles need to go into Dallas and dominate like they did versus Minnesota. With big performances from Zach Ertz and Beau Allen, they will have no problem in doing so. Fly Eagles Fly.
