Kendricks “plans” to play on Saturday

22 August 2016 Eagles News

Philly Mag’s Josh Paunil notes that LB Mychal Kendricks plans to play in the Eagles’ third preseason game versus the Indianapolis Colts.

The Eagles’ 25 year-old LB has had a tough time staying on the field, as of late. Kendricks was once seen as one of the best linebackers out of the group. However, it’s safe to say, that you have to be on the field to hold that title, right?

With the signing of another former Jim Schwartz retread, in Stephen Tulloch, it seems that he has a shot to compete in the middle. It looks as if the Eagles are making sure they have an emergency plan in place, if Kendricks goes down again. With rookie Joe Walker done for the season with a torn ACL, Tulloch adds much needed depth to the middle. If Kendricks is unable to go, ideally the Birds can start Tulloch, and could choose to play Hicks at the weakside.

Kendricks knows that he has to show something, or at least, show he’s healthy enough to compete. Today, Kendricks plans on practicing in full for the first time. For the Eagles’ sake, they need his type of athleticism on the field, especially on passing downs.
