Eckel: Could Agholor be “trade bait”?

17 August 2016 Eagles News

NJ.com’s Mark Eckel notes that it’s “pretty clear” that Eagles 2nd year wideout, Nelson Agholor, is “not” Pederson’s guy.

“Roseman and head coach Doug Pederson say nice things about Agholor publicly, but it’s pretty clear he’s not their guy. He was Kelly’s guy,” Eckel wrote.

Just a year ago, the Birds selected Agholor with the No. 20 selection in the first round of the 2015 draft. But now that Dorial Green-Beckham is in the nest, Eckel hints at the idea that Agholor could have value in another possible Howie Roseman trade.

With the man responsible for drafting Agholor, now the coach of the San Francisco 49ers, Eckel believes that Chip Kelly could still be in favor of Agholor. However, Baalke is the man in charge of personnel, and he would have final say on bringing him in. Would Baalke entertain the idea of dealing recently unretired Anthony Davis? Eckel notes that Davis “is still not loved” by Baalke.

Another team that could have interest in Agholor? Eckel believes that the Bengals could use another wideout to add to the mix, mentioning Jake Fisher as a possible target they could move. However, Bengals RT Cedric Ogbuehi, just went down with a toe injury that could see him sidelined for weeks. As of now, it’s not likely that they would part ways with the versatile Fisher, who plays four spots across the line, fullback, and tight end.
