McLane: WR Paul Turner “popping up” on offense

4 August 2016 Eagles News

According to the Inquirer’s Jeff McLane, WR Paul Turner has been making some noise on the offensive side of the ball.

The 5-foot-10, 193 pound rookie free agent from Lousiana Tech has turned some heads in camp with his consistency to make plays. McLane notes that the Eagles have given Turner “some first-team slot reps,” meanwhile he’s “caught almost everything thrown his way” in training camp.

In Turner’s final two seasons for LA Tech, he played in 21 games with 19 starts, hauling in 87 catches for 1,171 yards (13.5  avg.)  with  seven  touchdowns.  Prior to transferring to LA Tech, the Bulldogs wideout played in nine games for the LSU as a sophomore in 2012.  At the moment, Turner is battling Josh Huff for the fifth wide receiver  spot, and with Huff continuing to struggle with drops, the rookie free agent could make the Eagles coaches a firm believer.
