Trent Cole to serve as an honorary captain on Christmas Night, retire as an Eagle

22 December 2017 Eagles News

This Christmas, Eagles legend Trent Cole will have the opportunity to finally close out his NFL career the right way. Cole announced that he will serve as the Eagles Alumni honorary captain where he will officially retire as an Eagle.

Cole played ten seasons with the Eagles where he recorded 85.5 sacks, which is good enough for second all-time in franchise history. While in Philadelphia, he gave the Eagles everything on the field and he gave this city everything off of it. He definitely deserves a proper Philadelphia send off.

It is about time Cole comes back to the Eagles to properly retire. He was let go by then GM Chip Kelly. When you look at Cole, you see a Philly player through and through. He had a high motor, he was mean and he was resilient. Like Brain Dawkins, Cole is everything you want in a player in Philadelphia and giving him a proper retirement is a great move by the organization.
