Report: Eagles among seven teams Jets safety Jamal Adams would like to be traded to

18 June 2020 Uncategorized

The plot to the saga that won’t go away has thickened.

New York Jets safety Jamal Adams has now officially requested a trade. Even though he has two years left on his deal, plus a potential franchise tag year, Adams wants a move after the Jets haven’t even expressed to him that they want him long term.

Now, knowing he wants a trade, one of the seven teams he’s open to going to is of course, the Philadelphia Eagles.

There’s no mistake about it, Adams makes a lot of sense for the Eagles from a defensive standpoint. The Eagles love incorporating their safeties in the box and having them near the line of scrimmage. He’d line up there for the Eagles and be a staple in their defense.

Now, if Adams wants to get traded, it really means he’s done with the Jets. Money is a factor, but he feels played by them and he knows he can add himself to a playoff ready team. If he’s willing to play out his contract with the Eagles to keep their cap on hold right now? If so, the Eagles need to definitely consider bringing him in.

The one thing holding the Eagles up is the contract and the fact that their current safety situation isn’t bad at all. The Eagles have Rodney McLeod, Jalen Mills, Will Parks and rookie K’Von Wallace. With a few years on a low cap hit, Adams brings at ton of value. It’s possible the Eagles move a safety to make room for him, but you never know.

Adams on the Eagles defense definitely helps their defense a lot more. Putting him in that hybrid linebacker role would be a big move for the team and defense going forward. People just have to remember one thing, it’s a business. Do the Eagles need to risk the future for Adams right now? That’s the question we need to ask ourselves?
