The One Eagles Player You Should Take in Fantasy Football in 2019

25 July 2019 Fantasy Football

There are plenty of playmakers on the Philadelphia Eagles offense this year, but in the case for fantasy football there’s only one player people should be eyeing to draft.

The Eagles top offensive playmakers group consists of Alshon Jeffery, Desean Jackson, Nelson Agholor, Zach Ertz, Dallas Goedert, Jordan Howard, Miles Sanders and newly signed Darren Sproles. There are plenty of mouths to feed on this Eagles offense which should help them greatly this upcoming season, but spreading the ball to that many players will reduce the amount of touches each player gets, hurting their fantasy value. There is only one player who will benefit from having that many weapons both in the regular season and for fantasy football—Carson Wentz.

The fourth-year QB should be the one player on the Eagles that fantasy football players are actively keeping tabs on. Wentz is currently ranked as QB11 and has an average draft position (ADP) at 106, taken in roughly the 11th round of drafts. He also ranks No. 15 in QB fantasy football player projections for the 2019 season with 288.19.

Wentz currently has the most upside out of all quarterbacks to be taken in later rounds and still finish as a Top-3 fantasy quarterback in 2019. His current ADP puts him under the likes of Baker Mayfield, Cam Newton and Jared Goff and yet over other quarterbacks like Tom Brady, Phillip Rivers and Ben Roethlisberger.

Does all of this mean one should not draft anyone except Wentz? Of course not. Players mentioned in the list above will get games where they shine amongst the others; that’s fantasy football. However, Wentz will have the most to gain this season and will be the beneficiary of all the weapons he has surrounding him – not to mention retaining a top offensive line in the NFL to help him stay upright and deliver.

If there’s any piece of advice I can offer, it’s wait to take a quarterback. Wentz may be the QB to take once rounds start getting into the double digits and his potential to return to the MVP caliber quarterback he was certainly will intrigue any fantasy football player if it means winning a championship.
