The Eagles take on the New Orleans Saints today in a game which is a must win. Coming into this game, there’s a lot on the line for the Eagles and if they are to win, they need good performances for these players.
- Alshon Jeffery
The Saints have given up 220 receptions, 2,665 yards and 19 touchdowns to opposing wide receivers, which is the 31st worst in the league. It’s a big opportunity for a wide receiver of Jeffery’s caliber to really take over the game. There’s going to be plenty of opportunity for him, let’s see if him can snatch it.
- Malcolm Jenkins
Playing against his old team, there Jenkins is going to be more than just fueled to win, he’s going to be emotional invested. He’s going to play with so much passion and energy knowing the situation as well. But, besides that, the Eagles will likely use him in a matchup scenario with the Saints running backs. He’ll have his hands full today, but all he needs to do his contain the running backs. He’s going to be a really important player today.
- Josh Adams
The Eagles said they want to use him more and today ought to be the day they do. Running the ball isn’t the Eagles forte, but today’s about time they get a run game going. Helping out Carson Wentz and opening the offense against a team like the Saints will go a long way.
These three important players will have a lot of say in how the game turns out. Obviously it’s a team game, but with that being said, sometimes a few players have a big enough role where they can carry the load. And, for the Eagles today, these three will be the featured players.
